Intermittent fasting could be the missing link in your NAD journey!

Your NAD levels keep you looking and feeling young and healthy, so as they decline with age you may be looking for solutions to this issue. Luckily there are lots of ways to increase NAD.
NAD is influenced by your lifestyle, so there you can increase them through lifestyle changes as well as using NAD+ Phyto supplements. One method is the diet trend, intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting is a pattern of eating that involves you going for periods of fasting.
Rather than dictating what you eat, it tells you when to eat. There are different ways to fast, so you’ll have the flexibility to choose the best one for you. One such way is the 16:8 pattern. This creates an 8 hour window for you to eat in, since you already fast at night when you sleep, you hold off on food till midday and then stop eating at 8, which gives you 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating. Another pattern is the 5:2 pattern, this one involves eating as you would for 5 days a week and restricting your food intake for the remaining 2.

How does fasting help your NAD though? There seems to be a few ways that it helps, one of which is the activation of sirtuins, which are a NAD-dependent protein that repairs DNA. It also lowers inflammation and oxidative stress, both of which are fallout from ageing. Lowering your  oxidative stress can be attained through fasting and exercise, and will leave your NAD levels higher because it’s not being used to fight inflammation anymore.

Intermittent fasting also mimics calorie restriction without the calorie reduction. Studies on mice have shown that daily fasting improved their health. Two groups of mice were chosen, one group only ate once a day while the other group had a 13 hour window, the mice who only ate once a day had better health and lived longer.

So while intermittent fasting improves your NAD it leads to other great health benefits.
To maximise these benefits you need to use the NAD Elixir too. This will boost your levels way higher than just fasting alone ever could. If you’re looking into raising your NAD it’s always a better idea to include supplements since they’re made specially for this job. Also be sure to make sure the methods you’re using are right for you, fasting is just one of many ways to increase your NAD. If you find it’s not for you there are alway other options!
